A few months ago, I had the chance to shoot one of the cutest families on one of the most unbearably beautiful Wisconsin evenings. It was the kind of evening when life seems sublime just being in the presence of the warm summer sun. And of course, the whole thing was made even better by getting to hang with my lil' buddy Evan.

I've affectionately dubbed Evan the kid of many faces, because I mean COME ON, that toothless grin! The entire shoot was so much fun. From Evan running his beloved dogs out into the open fields...to suggesting poses he could make for the camera ( totally adorable )...to leading all of us back to the barn for some last family shots, this kid is one of my favorites. He's hilarious and energetic and such a sweet boy, which I attest to his equally awesome parents.

One of the cutest families, for sure.

REFRESH

HA-Refresh-New

Here she is in all her mustard yellow glory...my new site!

I've spent the greater part of this year ignoring the fact that my blog looked super blah. Let's be honest, we were all thinking it. That's the thing about putting off inevitable tasks though—they continue to haunt you until you finally do them and do them well. Catholic guilt at its finest.

While this website is still in progess, I do have an updated about page, a semi-completed info page, a non-functioning shop, and a brand new contact form. Self-branding is one of the hardest things I've had to do, and I'm happy with how my new site + collateral pieces are coming along. Designing for yourself is the worst, but it all feels like me so far, which is a very good sign.

There's lots more to come—including my design portfolio ( !!! ), a revamped blog sidebar, and lots of posts I've been waiting to share with you. Until then, poke around the site + see what's new while I go re-binge-watch the new season of The Mindy Project for the third time because I am obsessed with Diamond Dan.

(  ^^^ ahem, you're welcome ^^^ )

A TEMPORARY PAUSE

HA-Pause

There are currently 19 blog posts in my queue. Nineteen different design / art / photography / life / food / let's-talk-about-it things I've been working on and want to share with you.

...and this is where the but comes in.

BUT my last semester of school just started, this blog is having technical issues ( the worst ), and I am in the midst on a complete rebrand + overhaul of this site. So yeah...hey you...just stick with me a little bit longer because I promise—good things come to those who wait.

In the meantime, enjoy a few of my favorite links + finds from around the world wide web :

A fried egg dosa with potato curry sounds like maybe the most perfect dinner ever.

Speaking of cooking, Mark Bittman is my #1 man crush ( closely followed by Chris Messina ) + his last article on the time vs. work cooking debate was spot on.

An interesting interview with Erik Spiekermann, who's working to make letterpress printing more relevant in our ever-expanding digital age. The Germans seriously know how to do design.

My new favorite magazine.

Two roommates who bought nothing for one year. It's inspiring and encouraging for all of us who want to live more minimally ( even if not, that minimally ).

A few of my recent Insta follows : @bethmathews, @hunchfood@smallspells + @withthelocals.

And finally...SNAPCATS!
